Dates, Credits and Costs: Students on this program will receive 6 credits (9 quarter hours). Students attend weekly lectures in the fall (available via webcast anywhere in the world) and then participate in a two-week field study in Antarctica and Tierra del Fuego during winter break. The webcast course can also be taken without the field course in Antarctica for 3 credits (4 quarter hours). The estimated program fee is $6,595 (including orientation, accommodation and all meals in South America and Antarctica, group activities, and all in-country transportation). Tuition and international airfare are additional.
Note: All students pay the same price for program fees but tuition and administrative fees will vary depending on the institution offering credit. Please check with the institution administering credit for the session you wish to attend to determine the total costs for this program.
Program Description: This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the coldest, windiest, driest, highest, quietest, most remote, and least understood continent on Earth. You will spend 10 days aboard an expedition cruise ship to the Antarctic Peninsula, with the chance to see vast glaciers flowing into the sea, penguin colonies, whales and orcas, and beautifully sculpted icebergs. Also spend 3 days in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. Click here for more reasons to choose this program.
