Tyrone grew up in South Africa but moved to Australia to undertake
his PhD which he received from the University of Queensland. Loving the
reefs so much, he remained in Australia after the completion of his
studies and has spent the past 8 years researching and teaching on
Australia's Great Barrier Reef (GBR). He has taught numerous Marine
Ecology and Conservation courses throughout the GBR and does not need
too much persuasion to get back in the water.
